“The Original Sinners” were in existence from 1987 to 1994 and during that time they did UK tours (London Marquee type venues), were featured in session on Radio 1's Friday Rock Show and had an album financed by local business company Top Gun Enterprises. The new album got rave reviews from Metal Hammer and Kerrang. Kerrang’s Steve Beebee wrote "Remember there was a time when Iron Maiden or Thunder weren't famous either".
In June 2009 they decided to get back together for another gig and also entered Absolute Radio's "One Last Dream" competition. They performed live on air to 2 million listeners in the studio and then won by a landslide of 66% of the public votes (numbering over 10,000 in all).
Christian O’Connell and Vicky Butler Henderson are big fans of the band and have supported them all the way through.
On June 23rd they wrote their debut single with Henry Priestman of The Christians, played a warm up show in London's Hard Rock Cafe before going into Abbey Road on Wednesday 24th where they recorded the debut single "One Last Dream" in just 12 hours. On Saturday 27th June they opened up the Hard Rock Calling festival in Hyde Park to 40 000 people supporting The Pretenders, The Magic Numbers, The Kooks, Seasick Steve and Neil Young, videos and facebook links below.
On Sunday Henry Priestman called them to congratulate them on the show and to say he thought they totally "owned the stage". One comment he and others on Absolute Radio have made is how un fazed the band have been by everything thrown at them, the simple fact is they were born to do this.
The single is currently getting played several times a day on Absolute Radio and as of July 1st was No 38 in the iTunes rock chart, not bad for a band without a deal that had only been back in existence for 4 weeks. They have lots more material, old and new.
The band is currently available for new bookings where their own brand of “total rock and roll” is sure to delight the audience. They are also actively seeking a record deal, management, promotion, marketing and sponsorship to take the dream to the next level.
